New Visitors

I have been remiss in updating my blog for gardening. I have had grand ideas of keeping a log of my gardening activities, pics of my veggies and flowers.

My birthday was in March and these guys were given to me as gifts for the garden. Need I mention my garden has lots of whimsy?

The First Roses of the Year

I found a few cheap tea roses at Farm & Fleet but it was too cold to put them outside. So instead I watered them, put them in an old wastebasket and set them beside the door to the deck. And then they started blooming!

On another note...my seeds did arrive and I got them planted under lights.

And outside the lettuce, sweet peas, larkspur and pansies are up. I haven't checked on the spinach, green onions or radishes yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Fleeting Spring

The crocus were up on March 21. And then Kayla, a granddaughter, picked them.

Winter Sowing

I am waiting for my veggie and flower seeds to arrive in the mail. I just couldn't wait to do a little winter sowing again this year (now that it's almost spring) so bought a few flower seeds locally and planted them in my bags today after work. I love the cottage garden look so sowed larkspur, sweet peas, pansies and lettuce. It was a beautiful 66 degrees today and I'm in the gardening mood!
